Introduction

The Opalis Integration Pack for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 enables you to connect Opalis Integration Server to your System Center Operations Manager server to automate actions in response to alerts that are raised by System Center Operations Manager.

ADDED: Compatibility with OIS 6.2

System Requirements

The Opalis Integration Pack for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 requires the following:

• This Integration Pack can only be installed, registered and deployed on computers running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 because Microsoft .NET 3.0 Framework does not support computers running Microsoft Windows 2000.
• Microsoft .NET 3.0 Framework.
• The System Center Operations Manager Console must be installed on each computer where an Opalis Action Server or Opalis Client is installed, if the Action Server or Client interact with System Center Operations Manager.
• The Opalis Integration Library Management Pack is required by the Create Alert object. It is automatically installed in System Center Operations Manager by the Create Alert object the first time it is run. If you uninstall this Integration Pack, you must also remove the Opalis Integration Library Management Pack from System Center Operations Manager.

Introduction

The Opalis Integration Pack for HP OpenView Operations (HP-UX) is an add-on for Opalis Integration Server that enables you to build Policies that manage HP OpenView Operations (HP-UX) operations.

Efficiently and effectively managing the lifecycle for OpenView Operations messages is a challenge for many IT organizations. Users need tools that can instantly integrate and automate OpenView Operations Messages into standardized IT processes and software. The Integration Pack for OpenVew Operations allows users to monitor for key OpenView messages and take automated diagnostic or corrective actions. Opalis Integration Server also provides users with sophisticated tools to dynamically decide what actions should be taken and who to assign critical messages to via email, pager, or trouble ticketing systems such as HP OpenView Service Desk.

Additionally, access to message suppression capabilities are needed by staff in the field for both scheduled outages of managed servers and during ad-hoc maintenance periods, such as repairing a crashed server and trouble-shooting problem tickets.

ADDED: Compatibility with OIS 6.2

System Requirements

• Opalis Daemon for HP OpenView Operations installed on the HP OpenView Operations server
• The Set Scheduled Outage object requires an ‘outage’ file to be created in the ‘/etc/opt/OV/share/conf/OpC/mgmt_sv/respmgrs’ folder of the HP OpenView Operations server. You can find a sample of this file in the HP OpenView Operations sample directory.
• The Monitor Message object requires the Message Stream Interface to be configured on your OpenView Operations server using the Administrator console. You must Enable Output in the Message Stream Interface and it must be configured to Send All Messages to Server MSI. Make sure Copy Messages is selected.
• Oracle 10 client with OCI installed on the Action Server computer. The service name must be configured to the OpenView Operations database. You also must add the OCI DLLs to the PATH environment variable.

Daemon on HP-UX:

• Oracle OCI must be installed on the HP OpenView Operations server. The following environment variables must be configured. See the Oracle documentation for information about configuring the environment variables.

System Requirements

BladeLogic Configuration Manager or Provisioning Manager 7.4.2 or 7.5.0 must be installed and configured on each Action Server and Client where the Integration Pack is deployed.

When you install BladeLogic Configuration Manager or Provisioning Manager 7.4.2 or 7.5.0, it also installs the Java Runtime Environment 1.5. If the installer cannot find the Java Runtime Environment, you must manually add the following path to the PATH environment variable:

\\bin\client
